Robin

Copyright Denis Kania used with permission
The female robin lays eggs in the
Spring. The robin will usually have three to five eggs at a time.
The amount of eggs is called the brood. The robin lays her eggs
in a cup-shaped nest she makes out of twigs, roots, rags, and
string. The mother incubates the eggs. After thirteen days, the
young hatch and the male helps feed the them. Fifteen days after
hatching, the young leave the nest. The parents will usually come
back to the same nesting area and reproduce again. (World Book
