Fungi are nonmotile (dont move), so
theyre not animals- but theyre not plants because
fungi dont make theyre own food (heterotrophic).
Fungi get their food outside theyre bodies by releasing
enzymes to break it down, then they absorb the nutrients.
A large number of hyphea (thread-like structures) makes the
mycelium (the body of a fungus). Their cells are made of chitin
(a carbohydrate), and are hard and resist water loss. When fungi
are going to make more fungi, reproductive hyphea are produced.
They form spores that they release like tiny, tiny seeds. The
spores then grow into more hyphea.
