MACAWS AS PETS
Because Macaws live so long many dogs or
cats can live and die before this type of parrot will finally
die. Given a healthy diet and treated well it will become an ideal pet for a family.
The availability of
Macaws is low, though. One reason is because it doesn't breed
like cats and dogs. Usually there are only two to four eggs with
one to three fertile one an average. So when locating a Macaw from a
pet shop, pet owner, or breeder, do not be
dismayed if you must wait for awhile.
One major drawback to buying
a Macaw is the cost alone. Dogs and cats usually don't cost too extremely, but Macaws will probably cost up to, if not
over, thousands of dollars. This is mainly because of availability and also the popularity of Macaws.
