Optunia Macrorhiza- Also known as the Prickly Pear. Usually grow to 3 to 5 inches tall and 6 feet wide. This cactus can usually be found in southern Michigan, Western Ohio, Western Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and most of the northern part of Mexico.




Silvestrii-also known as the Peanut cactus. The worm-like joints are usually 2-4 inches long, and are about a 1/2 an inch thick. The spines are very soft and it doesn’t hurt to touch them. It feels almost like a brush.
