Grammar School-
The first step to a career in Marine Mammal Science is to finish
your grammar school. Usually that consists of Kindergarten
through Eighth grade.
High School-
High school courses such as biology, chemistry, physics,
mathematics, computer science, and language are very good
educational bases for a job in Marine Mammal Science.
Undergraduate Studies- Most
Marine Mammal Science jobs require a B.S. degree, with a major in
biology, chemistry, physics, geology, or psychology. Minors in
sciences, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or
engineering can be also be very helpful.
Graduate Studies- A masters
degree is usually the first opportunity students have to
specialize in marine mammal science. For specific jobs contact an
advisor for proper courses which should be taken.
Careers in Marine Mammal Science-
Such careers include researcher, field biologist, fishery vessel
observer, laboratory technician, animal trainer, animal care
specialist, veterinarian, whale watch guide, naturalist,
educator, and many more.
