On February 21, South Hamilton 5th and 6th graders were offered an opportunity for a bit of outdoor physical education at Seven Oaks Ski Area near Boone. Students received some skiing instruction in PE classes the week prior to the trip. This activity was an all-day event, with the students bringing a sack lunch. The weather was ideal.
Many teachers and even a few parents accompanied the students.
The first step was to acquire some rental ski boots and skis.
The next step for all was the trip to the bunny hill for a few trial runs.
Following some heavy-duty skiing, all headed for the lodge to recover and eat.
