November Board Notes
Discussion:

Lisa Pedersen and Trent Eckstaine were present to
meet the board and respond to any questions.
-
Before the meeting started the representatives of
SHEA addressed the teacher shortage issue by showing a tape and carrying
on a dialogue with the board members and administrative staff.
-
Representatives of the Music Booster Club brought
the board up-to-date on the financial condition and future plans of their
group.
-
Paul Hemphill informed the board that 98.7% of K-6
students had one or both of their parents attend the K-6 Parent-Teacher
conferences.

Steve Gray indicated that he, his staff, and parents
would be conducting meetings to discuss the block schedule in his building.

Mike Rogers informed the board that he will be sending
out specifications for the bidding of auditorium seating to be reviewed
by the oard in January.

Approved Music Booster sponsorship of a trip for music students next spring
- destination is Colorado

Retroactively approved a MS Music Trip

Approved the following goals for themselves for the coming year:

All members shall attend at least one state level meeting
-
At least two members shall attend a national level conference on education
-
The board and administrators shall become involved with a team building
process

Approved an early start request for submission to the State Department
of Education

Termination of one elementary associate position effective in December
-
Approved one open enrollment request from South Hamilton to Roland-Story
-
Approved 2000-2001 board meeting schedule (same as now)

Approved construction of an FFA trophy case to be located in the Ag classroom

Approved purchase from grant monies an Accelerated Math program for Grades
5-8
