The South Hamilton Board of Education would like to announce the appointment of Mr. John Kinley as Superintendent of schools beginning July 1, 2001.

Mr. Kinley is currently the middle school Principal in Ames, and has been in that position for the past 10 years.  Prior to that he held the same position in the Carroll school district from 1986 through 1991.  Before being a principal he taught at Jefferson Scranton Schools from 1975 until 1986.

Mr. Kinley will replace Mr. Rogers who will retire after 5 years as Superintendent at South Hamilton School District.  The Board of Education would like to thank Mr. Rogers for his service to the students, and for his dedication to the cause of Educational Excellence while at South Hamilton.  The Board would especially like to thank Mr. Rogers for his extra time and effort that resulted in the new elementary building and addition to the high school.

The Board of Education feels extremely fortunate to obtain a person of Mr. Kinley's reputation and ability to replace Mr. Rogers.  The board selected Mr. Kinley after an extensive search conducted by them with the help of retired Superintendent Mr. Textor.  With the help of Mr. Textor we feel very confident that we have obtained the very finest educator available.

The Board of Education would also like to thank the community members, students, and school district staff that were given the opportunity to express their preferences of a new superintendent.  we believe in Mr. Kinley we have the person that best meets the desires expressed by the South Hamilton Community
