Volunteers Make the Difference

Patrons and friends of South Hamilton School volunteered their time and energy on Saturday, August 21, to clean and move the equipment necessary to start school on time at our new elementary school. A large crew from all across the district emptied the old gym which had been piled high as a storage area. Months of construction dust was cleaned from teaching materials as crews began hauling in trip after tiring trip to the new classrooms. Others assembled and carried new furniture from the bus barn to the appropriate rooms. Since construction will continue as classes begin, some teachers will not have a room of their own for a while, so their gear was removed so that the gym can again be used as an exercise area and lunch room until the new lunch room and kitchen are completed.
