Our First Session at National Convention

This was also the first night the band and choir performed. The South Hamilton FFA chapter had 4 members that participated in the choir and 1 member that participated in the band.

Jen Heeren was a member of the FFA band, and Angie Monthei,

Brooke Olson, Crystal Ostrem, and Kari Swenson were members of the

FFA chorus.

Brooke and Kari stood together at the end of the second row, but...

Angie and Crystal were a little harder to find.

After the band and chorus performed the National FFA officers began the session. The main theme of convention this year was Making the Connection. The officers used different constellations for an example of this theme.

I guess you could say that on the trip we really did make the connection. I got to know some of the chapter members a lot better. And a lot of new friendships were made among us.

We also made some new friends from all over the country, and some that live right here in Iowa.

Andy, (between Angie and Brooke) is from Iowa and Seth (beside Holly) is from Wyoming.

They came and ate with us at Gates, supposedly the best barbeque in Kansas City. Most people liked it.

We know Derek did.

Our trip to National FFA Convention 1998 was a blast and in the end I don't think anyone wanted to go home, but somehow we got everyone on the bus and prepared for the long ride.
