South Hamilton musicians travelled to Gowrie to perform for comments and ratings on May 6. Students and instructors had been hard working towards this performance for some time.

The South Hamilton Concert Band under the direction of John Carey performed two major works; Masque by McBeth, and Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral by Wagner. The students worked hard and performed well, said Mr. Carey. The judges awarded the Concert Band a II rating, missing by one point the coveted I rating. The performance was held in the Gowrie gymnasium.

The South Hamilton Mixed Chorus under the direction of Bill Bensen performed With a Voice of Singing by Kenneth Jennings and Agnus Dei from the Missa Brevia by Peter Williams. The Chorus was pleased to be awarded a I rating. The performance was held at Zion Lutheran Church in Gowrie. BreAnne Feldman accompanied the chorus.
