Life cycle
In the spring a sea turtles search begins to find a mate that
is strong and will produce good offspring.
After mating the female turtle swims back to the very spot
that she was born to lay her eggs in the sand. For the turtles it
is hard to move up the beach, because they weigh so much.
After selecting a spot for the eggs the female sea turtle
begins to dig a hole. Using her hind flippers she slowly pushes
the sand. When the hole is done the egg laying begins. The eggs
are soft and leathery. A turtle will lay between 50 to 100 eggs
at a time. When she is done, she cloves them with sand and slowly
heads back to the sea.
