GATORS vs. CROCS

Alligators are often mistaken for crocodiles but are different from them in some ways. The fourth tooth of the alligators lower jaw fits into a pocket of the upper jaw. It is easy to tell an American alligator from an American crocodile because the alligators snout is fatter than the crocodiles. Alligators are less vicious and active than crocodiles. In North America alligators and crocodiles are only found together in the Everglades.
