Sloths range in length from 20 to 27 inches, and 9 to 20
pounds in weight. They have a short rounded skull, and small
rounded ears. Three-toed sloths have small tails, but two-toed
sloths don't have a tail. They live in rainforests. Sloths do
most things upside down like eating, sleeping, mating and giving
birth.
Sloths can defend themselves with sharp claws, but their main
form of protection is their camouflage. If a sloth wants to move
on the ground it has to drag itself by its hands because it can
stand on its feet, but it cannot walk on them.
Ground sloths are an extinct group of mammals lived on the
ground. They ranged in size from a cat to one that was larger
than an elephant.
