The three-toed sloth is born with brown fur, but most of the time you wouldn't know this by looking at it. Green algae lives in the sloth's fur helping it to blend in with the tops of trees where it lives. The sloth also has many other things living in it's fur. Once 978 beetles were found living on one sloth! Sloths are very slow, but this helps them because predators usually don't notice them. Sloths don't have to eat very much because of their slow speed. They are also slow at digesting food. It can take a whole month to digest its food.
