CACTI ADAPTATIONS
Cacti can be at such climates as these: A lot of sunlight, low humidity, dry winds, very little rainfall, and big changes between daytime and nighttime temperatures.
Their spines give them protection. They also help trap air next
to the stem. That helps the heat from the sun to go slowly into
the cactus.
Cacti roots can collect a lot of water, and that is helpful
because they dont get very much rain. Many of the young
cactis spines point down to collect fog, light rain, and
dew. Cacti also have a lot of tissue that stores water for them.
When raising a cactus in the household you should try to make it
seem as much like a desert as possible by giving it a lot of
sunlight and a little bit of water.
The most common insect that could hurt the cacti is the scale
insect. they are very small insects and very hard to see.
A disease called rots could kill the cactus if you dont
watch out. Draining your cactus well and being very clean with
things that touch the cactus should help out a lot. If the cactus
does get sick cut off the infected part, and a callous will cover
that area and it will heal.
