Working Conditions of a Job

in Limnology:

-many researchers spend some time each year doing field work and getting samples in areas with aquatic life

-limnological samples are taken mostly during 1-2 day field trips

-limnologists and aquatic scientists are usually involved in at least one organization, such as ASLO, so they can keep up with the latest technology

Importance of Limnology:

As was mentioned in a previous page, it's extremely important to study our water resources to make sure our drinking water is safe.

Water is not only used for drinking, though. It's also important for recreation and ecological purposes. Would you want to go swimming in water that had never been tested for unsafe chemicals?

The main thing is that safe water is clean water. It's a lot more fun to fish at a lake that is kept clean than a lake that is unsafe.
