2002-2003 All-State Performers

Brandon Holtan and Lynsey Carlson will represent South Hamilton School in this year's All-State performance.  These students have attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians.  The 2002 Festival Concert will be the 56th anniversary of this event.  Brandon and Lynsey were chosen through a strenuous audition procedure held by the Iowa High School Music Association and the Iowa Music Educators Association in Hampton on October 26.  The All-State Festival concert will be held in Hilton Coliseum in Ames on Saturday, November 23.  The performance will be recorded by Iowa Public Television for broadcast on Wednesday, November 27 at 7 PM and on Thursday, November 28 at 1 PM.

Brandon will sing bass in the All-State Chorus, which will be directed by Simon Carrington, Director of Choral Activities at the New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts.

Lynsey will perform on her euphonium in the All-State Band, which will be led by Dr. Timothy Mahr, professor of music at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
